NRCHA Derby Horse Show Champions Crowned in Scottsdale, Arizona

The final day of competition at the National Reined Cow Horse Association Jack and Phoebe Cooke Memorial Derby wrapped up on Sunday, June 14, at WestWorld of Scottsdale in Arizona. During the eight days of elite reined cow horse action prestigious derby champions titles were bestowed, horse show champions were crowned and over $500,000 in cash and prizes were awarded.

Non Pro Limited Spectacular & Non Pro Limited Champion
Winning the 37-entry Non Pro Limited Spectacular at the NRCHA Derby was Lori Frampton-Crafton aboard DVA Smart Dually (Smart Mate x Itty Bitty Dually x Dual Pep). The Ordway, Colorado, rider piloted the 2010 gelding, owned by Debbie Crafton, to 144 in the herd work, 145 in the rein work and 146.5 in the cow work.
The 435.5 composite eared the pair $3,438, a CR Morrison bronze finished trophy, sponsored by the Arizona Quarter Horse Association, gift certificate to Sami Fine Jewelry, product from Platinum Performance, a straw hat from Shorty’s Caboy Hattery and UltraCruz product.The Non Pro Limited Spectacular Champion also earned top honors in the Non Pro Limited horse show class, collecting $1,218 for the win.

Youth Cow Horse Spectacular & Youth Cow Horse Champion
Catelyn Walker and Playin Motown (Mr Playinstylish x Mo Flo x Mr Peponita Flo) were crowned Youth Cow Horse Spectacular champions with a 433 composite. Walker, of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, rode her 2013 gelding to a 142 in the herd, 145.5 in the rein and a 145.5 in the cow work.
The win was accompanied with a $460 pay check. The duo also won the Youth Cow Horse horse show class, earning an additional $180, two CR Morrison bronze finished trophies, product from Platinum Performance and Back On Track and horsepower cowboy boots from Rios of Mercedes Boot Company.

Youth Limited Spectacular & Youth Limited Champion
It was a clean sweep for Miss Landri Lisac. The Pueblo, Colorado, competitor won the Youth Limited Spectacular, Youth Limited and Youth Limited 13 and Under riding Cat Walks Into A Bar (WR This Cats Smart x Sue C Shiner x Shining Spark). The duo marked a 143 in the herd work, 142 in the rein work and 146 in the cow work. 
The 431 composite score earned Lisac $555, two CR Morrison bronze finished trophy, sponsored by SJ Ranch, product from Platinum Performance and Back On Track and horsepower boots from Rios of Mercedes Boot Company.

Beginning Fence Work First Place
The last day of the show was rounded out by a Beginning Fence Work class; a place for boxing competitors to learn run and rate before entering a full fence work class. Topping the class with a 140.5 in the rein work and 146 in the cow work was Calley Rae Satriana aboard Smart Savanah Holli (Blue Savanah Holli x Taffeta Ruffles x Smart Mate). The champions took home a CR Morrison bronze finished trophy, a Dennis Moreland Tack headstall and Platinum Performance.
