Extreme Mustang Makeover Kentucky Moves to Virtual Format

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS – The Extreme Mustang Makeover Kentucky slated for June 25-27 will now be held as a virtual event.

The Mustang Heritage Foundation made the difficult decision to move forward with this event virtually in order to ensure the health and safety of trainers, owners and fans, and remain in full compliance with COVID-19 reopening plans determined by the state of Kentucky.

“This was an incredibly tough call for us as we love getting to see our trainers and their mustangs in person,” said executive director Alex Kappert. “However, our primary mission remains to place these mustangs in private homes and this format allows us to do that.”

Still taking place during the same timeframe, the show will broadcast the Adult and Youth divisions and be hosted on E-SHOWS, the new online horse-showing platform developed by the American Paint Horse Association.

Trainers will submit their video entries through E-SHOWS. MHF staff will be available to assist them in submitting entries by the deadline.

Videos will be reviewed and judged by Adult judges Dennis Cappel and Gary Hersom, and Youth judges Ginger Duke and Dan James. Class and Overall results will be announced throughout June 25-27.

With the event format change, the Mustang Auction will now be held virtually and hosted by Superior Livestock on Saturday, June 27. 

“We are fortunate to partner with APHA and Superior, leaders in the equine industry, to still showcase these talented mustangs and trainers,” said Kappert. “Their virtual platforms will also help broaden our audience, allowing for nationwide viewing and bidding.”
