SleekEZ was formed by advanced equine dentist, Jennifer Tipton.  Jennifer travels throughout the United States making horses happy, and always enjoys a pretty horse! She is a horse, kitty and dog owner, and lives in Montana where the winters are long and springs are, well, hairy.  But, no matter what part of the world you are in, animals shed hair, dirt and dander year round.  SleekEZ is one of the best shedding tools on the market and claimed to be better than the Furminator at half the cost!

During her travels she has sold many SleekEZ grooming sticks to clients who had to have one after trying it out on their equines.  “I now always carry a supply with me,” she says, “especially during the springtime when shedding season is in full swing.  There is nothing worse than horse hair up my nostrils and down my throat when I am trying to focus on horses’ teeth.  Back when I was just carrying a prototype, I would turn to the client, hand them a SleekEZ stick and say, ‘Here, use that on your horse and see how that works for ya…’ The horse owner would become possessed as he or she SleekEZ’d the old winter fur so simply to the sleek undercoat.  I almost had to peel their fingers from the stick to get my prototype back!”

That is when she knew that there was a demand…

Different prototypes were made and many were tossed mostly due to shoddy presentation and uncomfortable grips.  Finally, after many handmade prototypes, she went with the present product as it is most comfortable in the hand.  Also, the metal blade has a tooth pattern that is exclusive to SleekEZ.  You are not going to find another blade like it on the market.  The tooth pattern was found to work best from horses to dogs to cats.  It is an amazing product to help with shedding livestock and pets.

It wasn’t the cheapest route, she says, but I am one to go for quality.  In fact, that is the second most common remark from users of SleekEZ:  “It is very well constructed and fits nicely in the hand”.  Truly, the grip does allow the user to use two hands and really works without discomfort to the animal.  In fact, horses and dogs seem to really enjoy it where they don’t like other brushes.  Cats are a little iffy, but that is probably more about being a cat than the stick itself (the blade really is quite similar to a coarse cat tongue in its ability to pull loose fur and hair).
